Search Queries
A name or place entered in a search tool is sent directly to the outside company that operates that tool. The provider processes the query and supplies its response. This site does not retain or log those search terms on its own systems.
Messages and Contact Submissions
When you email us, the message may be retained so our team can respond. It remains within the organization unless disclosure is required by a valid legal obligation.
Data We Gather Automatically
Loading a page causes the servers to receive routine technical information about the visit, which can include:

No Criminal-Record Data on File
This site neither keeps nor sells a database of personal criminal records. It explains how to reach the Alexander County Sheriff, Clerk of Superior Court, North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation, and North Carolina Sex Offender and Public Protection Registry. Government disclosure is governed by laws such as the North Carolina Public Records Law, G.S. 132-1.4 for criminal-investigation and public arrest information, and G.S. 7A-109 for court-file access. Those laws apply to the public custodians, not to a criminal-record collection hosted here. We are not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act, and visitor data is not assembled into a consumer report or a record about another person.

Outside companies operate the search boxes. Information submitted through one of those tools is handled under that company's privacy policy rather than this policy.
